Well doggs, I'm gonna call it. 10 dollar drawings as it exists is no longer. I finally (FINALLY!) schlepped my ass to the post office today to mail the final drawings, so if you're waiting, thanks for your patience. I'm just sort of over it for now.
So, now I get to come up with a new gimmick for selling art online. One likely route might be making prints of some of my more popular drawings from this blog, like the bugs/owls/wreaths/etc., but I don't know. I am working on some watercolor stuff for an upcoming show. I will probably just start some all-purpose art blog. Thanks for playing, dudes!
And for the record, the stupidest-sounding request to date has been "my husband and me riding our cat like the dragon in the never-ending story." sorry, lady. i couldn't bring myself to draw that. i laughed too hard.
THANKS EVERYONE!
oh no! this is what happens when i wait too long.. i miss out! give shout when you get your new thing up and running. i´d love to have a piece of art by you on my wall.
ReplyDeleteit was a good run. sadly i was not able to ask you for a woodchuck, drinking beer, floating on an inner tube in the BP oil spill
ReplyDeleteAw, sadness. Congrats on the successful endeavor, and I hope you continue some sort of all-purpose online art blog. You've got a pretty unique and comfortable style, and I can imagine you'll do well. I'd love to pick up a print of those glass amplifier tubes. It was one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI ABSOLUTELY love my $10 tea-cup drawing ;-D
ReplyDeleteSoo it's come to an end...
Good Luck with your new artistic venture.
I will be watching closely.
Just love your unique style and approach
As they say in Sweden

It's been great following your blog. Please let us subscribes know where you end up at.
ReplyDeleteaww – say it ain't so! congrats on a great run, alicia.
ReplyDelete(psst ... if you get the itch for one more minimally humiliating commission, let me know ... I'll promise to keep it on the d-l)
I'm sorry to see you stopped doing this, although I completely understand the logic. I continue to love my picture of a deer with a woman's head surrounded by a line from Habbakuk! Luckily, I got a job teaching at a Catholic University so I can put the drawing on my office door. I was back to request a companion drawing, but I guess I'm too late. Best of luck with your art!

I love your drawings and would gladly buy prints if you put them out! You could always do $10 drawings but then people don't get to choose, you just send them a sort of grab bag of your doodles!
